Tanya Sandhu

Hi! I am currently a Senior studying Physiology at the University of Arizona. These times have entirely uprooted many lives and placed many people in precarious situations. In order to alleviate some of this burden, I wanted to find a way to safely and effectively aid the Tucson community which is why I started the Tucson Mask Project! In my free time I love to paint and sew masks (my new quarantine skills), spend time with family, and stay active by doing at home workouts!

Sameer Sandhu

My name is Sameer Sandhu, and I'm currently a senior at BASIS Oro Valley. I cofounded Tucson Mask Project with Tanya to respond to the drastic change all have experienced through the pandemic. Being interested in healthcare and dedicated to the Tucson community, I'm excited to serve and aid those in need. My favorite things to do are rollerblade, volunteer at the animal shelter, and my new hobby- sewing!

Kavi Koshkarian

Hello! I am a Junior at the University of Arizona. As a daughter of parents in the health profession, I know firsthand how serious the lack of PPE is in the United States. I am excited to contribute to this effort, and hope to make a difference during this crucial time. In my free time, I enjoy running, coffee, and being outside. I hope to pursue a career in medicine in the future.

Jada Zuniga

Hi! I am currently a Freshman studying Physiology at the University of Arizona. Having an interest in the medical field, I feel it is in my best efforts to have a role and make a difference in the current challenges that the  nation is facing with this pandemic. Picking up a book or going on a nice jog has been my current hobby!

Trey Bryant

Hi, my name is Trey, and I’m a fifth year student at the University of Arizona studying Computer Science. Being a current AVID tutor for TUSD schools I can see firsthand how important school is, not just education-wise but as a physical space for students to connect with their peers. Unfortunately, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, that space has been taken away but I wanted to find a way to provide a semblance of that community online for students who might need it. I’m happy to lend my tutoring experience to the project as well as the other areas we offer help in.

Rachelly De La Cruz

Hello there! I studied Physiology at the University of Arizona and plan on entering the medical field as a nurse practitioner. During the stressful time of this pandemic, I would love to offer my help in any way to individuals in the Tucson community who have been burdened by the virus. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones (6 feet apart), relaxing in nature, and doing at-home workouts. I look forward to getting through this safely and efficiently!
